Our Director:
Ashley Danielle Francis is honored to be serving her 11th year as Director of Choral Activities and Music Theatre Director at Prescott South Middle School. Ms. Francis has always had a love of Music, Theatre, and the Stage. She received a full scholarship to ETSU where she sang various leading roles in the ETSU Opera Theatre and performed abroad with the ETSU Chorale in France, Spain, Austria, and Hungary. Ms. Francis was the winner of the American Choral Director’s Association Undergraduate Choral Conductor’s Award and was recently Nominated for the Excellence in Music Theatre Education through the Tony Awards. Ms. Francis is dedicated to providing a artistically excellent Choral and Music Theatre Experience to all of her students. She is committed to fostering students’ creativity, instilling moral character development in young adults, advocating for critical thinking and social development through the Arts, and leaving a positive impact on her community through her Choral/ Music Theatre Program.

Our mission
The PSMS Performing Arts Program is designed to create a sincere love of music through the appreciation and participation of a successful musical experience. PSMS Performing Arts students experience a variety of musical expression and interpretation while gaining a higher sense of self-worth, discipline, musicianship, and pride. Through our many performing arts classes, students are challenged through learning and performing a variety of repertoire. Equal to all other classes at this school, the choices students make in regards to participation, behavior, attendance, and commitment have a direct impact on other members. As a result, careful attention to the policies that embrace these issues is most important. Students are always encouraged to put forth their best effort in every part of the process.  ​
